Department of Business Economics


Just for your information, I received my Ph.D. in Economics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University known as Virginia Tech (Blacksburg, Virginia, USA) in 1991. My dissertation was entitled: "A game theoretical investigation of the international debt overhang" (written under the supervision of prof. Mamoru Kaneko).

After spending 4 years in the doctoral program at Virginia Tech, I became a tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Management and Strategy (Department of Strategy, now) at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois, USA), where I have taught and conducted research for 7 years.

Since 1998, I'm back at SGH Warsaw School of Economics. My habilitation book was entitled: "A Contribution to the Theory of Takeovers" ("Przyczynek do teorii przejmowania kontroli nad spółkami akcyjnymi"), SGH Warsaw School of Economics, Warsaw 2001. For this book, I received the Poland's Ministry of Education Award in 2003.

As of September 1st, 2016, I started serving as Vice Rector for International Relations at SGH Warsaw School of Economics.

As of November 2nd, 2016, I started chairing the newly established Department of Business Economics at SGH Warsaw School of Economics.
